Camp Atterbury

Camp Atterbury Joint Maneuver Training Center is a home base for members of the Army National Guard, Army Reserves, Marine Corps, and other units that train and mobilize there.  It has been an active mobilization and demobilization base for operations in support of the global war of terrorism following September 11th.  In the past ten years, 75,000 troops and nearly 5,000 civilians have been mobilized through the facility.  Beginning in 2005, Camp Atterbury expanded to include the Muscatatuck Urban Training Center (MUTC) located near Seymour, Indiana about 30 minutes to the south.  Troops and civilian emergency management organizations are transported from Camp Atterbury to MUTC for for training in urban warfare and civilian operations. Both Camp Atterbury and MUTC have mock villages and urban areas, resembling Iraq and Afghanistan that can be tailored to wherever trainees needs.
